The loss of the Vikings to the Bears on Monday means that if the Eagles (11-4) win this Sunday against the Cowboys (10-5), they get a first-round playoff bye, and will return to their home at Lincoln Financial Field the following Sunday. This Sunday is sure to be one of the most exciting games of the season. With the NFC east title and a No. 2 seed riding on it, what do the Eagles need to come out on top at Jerry Field?
Our Center Jamaal Jackson was injured last week against Denver, and is out for the year with a Torn ACL. We need our offensive line, most likely headed by last weeks replacement Nick Cole, to be on top of things. With the added possibilities of Quinten Demps and Michael Vick returning this week, giving us our kickoff return back, and some added help in the pocket. Vick has been improving, and if he returns, we will definitely be seeing some playtime out of him. Westbrook, who didn't play against the Cowboys earlier this year, is back again this week, and will definitely see some touches from the ground and in the air as the Eagles look to continue our six game win streak. The ground game has been important the last Six, and with Westbrook back, we have an added chance of breaking through the Cowboys Defense, as Westbrook said on Sunday night: "It's hard for any defense to stop us if we're playing like we can." Last on my list of players to look out for is DeSean Jackson. He'll surely be looking for a great game to finish a great Season. He's Scored a TD in the past 6 games, and has gotten more than 140 yards each game, becoming the first Eagles receiver to do that since Mike Quick in 1985. He also broke the 1,000 receiving yard mark on Sunday, and is only the third receiver to do it since Andy Reid has been coached, joining the ranks of Terrell Owens and Kevin Curtis. Sunday is our chance to control destiny, and in 2 weeks, the Green Machine looks to be watching the first round of the playoffs from the comfort of their homes.
Wow, i love this article. It gives a seemingly proffesional article in the view of a fan. Someone who is on the level of the fans but knows his stuff. More to come?
