Bell Signs Offer Sheet

Bell Signs One-Year Offer Sheet
By Lance Epstein

According to the Adam Caplan of Scouts.com and the Philadelphia Inquirer's Paul Domowitch and Les Bowen, running back Mike Bell has signed an offer sheet with the Eagles y.

The offer sheet has been confirmed by his agent as a one-year offer sheet to be worth $1.7 million but could be escalate to $2 million with incentives. Bell will only receive $500,000 in guaranteed money. One of the main reasons Bell chose the Eagles according to his agent Josh Luchs was because he feels the Eagles are a Super Bowl contender and the organization liked Bell's physical style.

Now, the Saints have until next Tuesday to match the offer or he will become an Eagle. The Saints are not likely to match the offer considering they could have tendered him with a second or third round pick and chose not to. So I would not expect them to match the offer.

This is a good pick up for the Eagles. Bell is only receiving a one year contract so if the experiment fails they can just let him go. Furthermore, Bell has the ability to start in case McCoy get injured or cannot carry the load.
