WR Hall, C Shipley Cut by Eagles
By Lance Epstein
In just two and a half hours the Eagles final 53-man roster will be released. Earlier today, the Eagles traded an undisclosed draft pick to the Baltimore Ravens for DE/LB Antwan Barnes.
The addition of Barnes put the total amount of players on the roster at 66, which means they are going to have to cut 13 players before 6 p.m. est. Some news pertaining to whom the Eagles plan to put on the practice squad and release have already surfaced.
Center A.Q. Shipley has confirmed that the Eagles have released him. However, he also said that the club told him to stay in the area because if he makes it through waivers then the Eagles' would put him on their practice squad.
"I knew it was going to be tight," said Shipley about his release. "I knew it was going to be a numbers game."
Additionally, Foxsports.com's Adam Caplan is reporting that WR/KR Chad Hall has been released as well. It is not a surprise that Shipley and Hall were cut considering both men were competing for positions that were very deep in talent.
However, shocking news could be on its way as reports have surfaced saying that either DE Darryl Tapp or LB Moise Fokou could be cut with the addition of Barnes.
